vCyberBoard Advisor — Virtual Cyber Board Advisor for Cybersecurity Governance
vCyberBoard Advisor is a virtual cyber board advisor — an independent board advisory providing virtual cybersecurity advisory and governance support to boards, executives and organisations across the European Union. We help the people accountable for the outcome understand, assess and govern cyber and AI risk, translating complex technology risk into the language of value, accountability and decision-making.
What is a Virtual Cyber Board Advisor?
Who vCyberBoard Advisor is for
vCyberBoard Advisor serves boards, board committees, chief executives and senior teams who are accountable for cybersecurity and AI risk but are not security specialists. Our advisory mandate is aligned to the board and its governance responsibilities. We hold no vendor alliances. We are headquartered in Amsterdam and advise organisations across the EU.
The cybersecurity problems we address
Boards face a widening set of technology risks: cyber attacks that can halt operations and expose personal data, regulatory duties under NIS2, DORA, the EU AI Act and GDPR, the rise of artificial intelligence and autonomous agents, and the difficulty of reading technical security in business terms. We address these as a single operating posture — governance, risk, compliance and resilience — mapped into one board-readable control fabric.
Board-level cyber risk governance and oversight
Regulatory and compliance considerations
-
NIS2 Directive Readiness
— governance and accountability obligations, risk-management measures and incident reporting under Directive (EU) 2022/2555.
-
DORA Compliance Advisory
— operational resilience, ICT risk management, testing and third-party risk under Regulation (EU) 2022/2554.
-
ISO/IEC 27001 Advisory
— ISMS design, risk treatment and certification readiness.
NIS2, DORA, the EU AI Act and GDPR are not separate obligations but one operating posture. We map them into a single board-readable control fabric so compliance and governance reinforce one another rather than compete for attention.
AI governance and AI risk
-
AI Governance & EU AI Act
— EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689), ISO/IEC 42001 AI management systems, AI risk management and agentic AI oversight.
As AI agents gain autonomy, the attack surface becomes behavioural. We design guardrails, kill-switches and accountability chains that keep autonomous and agentic AI systems answerable to human intent, and run tabletop exercises that test the decisions, not just the defenses.
Cybersecurity maturity and assessment
You cannot govern what you have not measured. We assess cybersecurity maturity across governance, risk management, incident response, third-party risk, resilience, data protection and AI governance on a five-level scale — and close each engagement with a prioritised, costed roadmap the board can fund and track.
